Transitioning into Fall Fashion: Target Edition

Transitioning into Fall Fashion: Target Edition

GUYS….fall is finally here and I could not be happier 🙌 🙌

You know that scene in the movie Elf, where Buddy freaks out when he see’s Santa

Well, I think that’s how me and almost every other girl on the planet feels now that fall is upon us! Unfortunately, Missouri is not quite as excited because temperatures here still feel like summer 😭. But that’s okay, because today I am sharing with you some of my favorite affordable staples that are perfect to wear while transitioning into the fall season 🍁🍂🍃

This weekend, my family and I spent time at The Country Club Plaza to enjoy all the festivities going on at the Plaza Art Fair. This is always one of my favorite art festivals Kansas City has to offer as they not only have beautiful artwork lining the streets, but also have a ton of live music and enough food trucks to put you into a food coma 😴😳.

However, unlike previous years, it was almost 90 degrees 😖😪 this past weekend which made my vision of wearing a cozy fall ensemble {chunky sweater + boots} 👉 disappear. Thankfully, I recently found some lovely pieces at Target that are the perfect addition to anyone’s wardrobe as the seasons are changing.

My first find: this lovely sweater shift dress 😍😍

I don’t know about you but I’ve always had such a love-hate-relationship with sweater dresses 👻.  I always try them on at the store, but end up never walking out with them due to the poor fit. Most often, they are too tight in the butt or hips making for an unflattering look. That is why I was SOOO excited when I found this dress at Target! The style is unique in the fact that although it’s a sweater material, it’s designed like a shift dress giving it the perfect fit. Considering I am only 5 ft 3″ , shift dresses work well on my shorter frame, making this dress the perfect fall find💓

Additionally, I love the high neckline as it gives the dress such a chic and sophisticated look 💃. And as the temperatures start to cool off, this dress would also look adorable with some tights + ankle boots making it such a versatile piece to add to your closet!

💰 Money Saving Tip: 💰One of the best parts about this dress is that it’s under $25 making it work for any budget 🤓

My second find: these adorable black mules 🤗🤗

I am not ashamed to admit that these alsoooo came from Target 🙈! What can I say, they are killing it in the fall fashion department. The mule trend is all the rave this fall season as they add such a classy, put-together look to any outfit. Also, I love the black color of them accented with gold hardware! These shoes will match almost any outfit you already own, making them a true fall staple 👌

P.S. I would probably recommend sizing up if you are going to order them online without trying them on. I am normally a size 7 but had to get the 7.5. If you can’t make up your mind, you can always buy both sizes and return whichever ones you don’t want

💰 Money Saving Tip: 💰 Just like the dress, these too are just under $25 🙏. Additionally, they just so happen to be the perfect dupe for the popular Gucci Princetown mules ($650 😱) that so many fashionistas are flaunting! Now you too can achieve the same look for a quarter of the price!

After the art fair, we headed on over to re-charge at one of KC’s newest coffee shops, Monarch Coffee

This coffee shop has been on my list, and boy did it live up to it’s expectations!! To give some background, this coffee shop was started by a husband & wife duo 👫 , with the husband being a well-known barista and the wife an interior designer. As they state on their website, their shop is the perfect”marriage of coffee and art“💞💒 which I couldn’t agree with more!

Just look at the place!! The space is so unique with its Parisian feel that you don’t even feel like you are in Missouri. The owners really outdid themselves and perfected every detail. With an open floor plan, beautiful tiled ceilings, and giant windows this coffee shop has it all. And not to mention, they make a darn good cappuccino 💞

⬅⬅⬅ Okayyyyy I seeee you fresh fig cupcakes 😍😍

And if you thought it couldn’t get any prettier, just wait until you see these awesome booths😚…they are the true definition of a ‘coffee shop corner

That wallpaper though 💖 …. It truly is such an aesthetically pleasing place that looks like it’s straight outaaa NYC. Its charming looks make it such a great place to grab a coffee and even do an impromptu photo shoot (thanks mom 🙋)

Although I tagged the links for both pieces earlier, here they are again if you missed it:

  1. Sweater dress– I got a size small for reference
  2. Mules

I can’t wait to share more of my favorite fall looks with you guys!! Let me know if you end up picking up either of these pieces and how you plan on styling them! Fall truly is such a wonderful time of the year that has so much to look forward to. Bring on the cozy sweaters, apple orchards, and pumpkin everything!! 🍎🍂🍁🍃🎃

Comment below what fall styles you are most excited for or any pieces you’ve found for the fall season. I would love to see them to help get even more inspired!

Anna, thanks to your recommendation, I visited Monarch Coffee with my wife and we enjoyed iced lattes. They were delicious. I’ve told my friends about the place. Give us more unique places to try.
