A Trip To The Pumpkin Patch

A Trip To The Pumpkin Patch

Happy Tuesday Everyone 👻

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend full of lots of rest and relaxaaaation….and coffee ☕  I know I definitely did! Sadly, weekends always fly bye waaay to quick and before we know it, the week is once again upon us 😭

To help you overcome any post-weekend blues, I am sharing a classic fall look I wore this past weekend when my family and I took a trip to our local pumpkin patch 🎃💁

In Missouri, it FINALLY felt like Fall this weekend 🙌 meaning you didn’t have to bare 90 degree weather while wrapped up in your favorite sweater. And it wasn’t just the weather that was changing, but all the fall foliage was coming out as well! This made me so happy, as the leaves changing colors are one of the highlights that I (and so many others) look forward to all year.

For those who live in Kansas City, definitely put Weston’s Red Barn Farm at the top of your list for a fall outing. This farm is one that I have visited since I was a young kid, making it a special trip I look forward to each year. The drive out to Weston is always so beautiful and is a wonderful way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

This farm not only has an adorable pumpkin patch, but also serves as a wonderful apple orchard. My family and I were in luck when we arrived, as they still had some apples left on the trees even though the season is coming to a close.

Like most girls, I wanted to plan the perfect fall outfit to wear, because come ooooonnn we all know that looking cute while apple picking & selecting the perfect pumpkin is #priorities for us ladies. 🤗

Outfit Details:

I started the look with one of my favorite fall staples, a cozy cable knit sweater.  EVERY GIRL should own a cable knit sweater, as it can be styled sooo many different ways and is such an easy way to give your outfit the perfect fall vibe. I purchased my sweater many years ago at H&M, but click here to see one that is almost identical and is super affordable at less than $25

Next, I added this adorable plaid scarf to the look. This is also one of those fall staples that can be found at any store right now, making the options endless. I bought mine several years ago at Forever 21, but I found this one at Lulu’s that’s almost identical. However, any plaid scarf will contrast well and give your outfit that extra ‘pop’ 💥when paired with a simple cable knit sweater.

As for jeans, I kept is simple with my tried and true Gap skinny jeans, known as the ‘1968 always skinny‘. This is my go-store store when looking for a pair of jeans. Their skinny jeans fit so well and the “short” length hits my ankle perfectly, making it a dream for us vertically challenged girls (I’m 5ft 3 on a good day 🙃). I also like how these jeans are tight in the leg and don’t bunch up, making them perfect to tuck into boots. I even own several pairs of the exact same style 🙈 if that gives you an idea of my obsession. Sadly, these bad boys are sold out 🙁 but click here to see a classic pair that look very similar.

💰 Money Saving Tip 💰: Try to avoid buying jeans at the Gap that are full price. At least once a month, Gap runs a 40% off sale, allowing you to save on almost half the cost….and surprise surprise!! They are running a sale right now with almost 50% off a lot of items + an addition 20% off if you use the code ‘allgood’   🤑😱

Last but not least, shoes. And OH.MY.GOODNESS 😍😍 this pair of the ‘Frye Enginner 12R’  in the color charcoal old town (click here to shop now) boots are my holy grail, ride or die when it comes to boots!! Before you dismiss them because of the price, let me tell you why these boots are so amazing. First of all, the quality truly cannot be beat. I have owned these boots for 10 years 😱 now which is crazy to think about. One year for Christmas I decided to return all of my gifts and cash them in for this one pair of boots. And let’s just say, it’s a decision I’ve never looked back on.

During fall/winter and even into spring, you can find me wearing these at least 4x a week, if not more 🙈. It’s amazing after so many years of usage that they haven’t even began to break down or look worn. To me, these boots are the ultimate investment piece✨. Unlike a pair of $30 boots that will wear down after a year or so of use, these have sustained everything from rain ☔ &  snow ❄ to sunshine ☀…. and are still going strong!!

As you all know, I am all about living life affordably. However, when it comes to investment pieces like this I do not mind splurging (in moderation 😜) on items that will last me for years to come.

💰 Money Saving Tip 💰: A lot of times during Nordstrom’s Annual Anniversary Sale Frye Boots will be on sale, so you could always wait until then to save some $$. Or keep an eye out at Nordstrom Rack (in-store or online) as they often are selling them

I have been using this nail color, Mrs. Always right, by Essie non-stop lately. It is perfect for fall with its hints of dusty rose/mauve, which are some of the biggest color trends this season! 💃

Besides the apple orchard, Red Barn Farm had a plethora of pumpkins available to pick that came in all sorts of shapes and sizes. This farm is so quaint and adorable, it will give you allllll the fall feels 😊.

And no trip to the pumpkin patch is complete without homemade donuts and apple cider!!! If you take a trip here, definitely get your hands on some delicious apple cider doughnut holes that are mmmmm mmmm mmm 😋😍, as well as either a hot apple cider or a refreshing apple cider slush. Both are equally delicious 😎

Now that I have all these apples, comment below what your favorite apple recipe is! My only request is that it is something sweet and not savory 😎. Also, if you haven’t already, click here to go check out my recent post about the the best pieces from Target to transition into fall with!

I hope you guys stay warm and cozy the rest of this week, especially as this Friday they are predicting frost here in KC 😲. Until next time!

Great post! My favorite fall memory is when my friend taught me how to throw a football. They don’t play where I’m from. I will have to incorporate some of these ideas into my fall festivities ;p
